I'm Back and I'm Pulling No Punches

Hello, everyone, it's been quite a while since I last wrote. Life interfered and I didn't have as much time as I used to. Enough of why I left, the importance is what my plan is from here on out.

This website has gone from a photography website to a news website about travel, all the time failing to be what it really needed to be... a place where I was myself. The travel website does give a unique spin on the many airline reviews out there seeing as I am a vegetarian and review airline vegetarian meals. Outside of this niche though, the website was just another in a long line of travel news website, reiterating what a million other websites have said.

It's time I dropped the "be like everyone else" act and was myself. I'm opinionated, headstrong, and stubborn. I've got something to say on a lot of things, and many times it's a perspective you hear very few places.

Let me break this down for you. I love to travel and that will always be a huge part of my website. At the same time, I'm a rocket scientist, who lives for science and hates pseudo-science bull shit. That means if you are an anti-vaxxer, I think you are the scum of the Earth and likely should be brought up on charges of child endangerment. It also means I agree with 98% of scientist on climate change, NASA didn't hoax anything, the Earth is not flat you morons, and I am skeptical about your new miracle healing thing.

Going forward this website will no long be exclusive to just travel, though that will be a big part of the stories here. I am going to cover everything from science, to politics, to the stock market. These are no longer going to be information only sorts of stories, it's time to be me on this website, and that may mean I will piss you off sometimes, and other times tell you some pretty fun and inspiring things.

Travel reviews will still be a thing, and there are some that have yet to be written from my trip to South Africa and Dubai in October. Stories will not exclusively be me bitching, but some weeks it may seem like that. Just be aware that I have known for a while that what I was doing was just rehashing stories. It's just taken me a while to figure out that it's time I be myself, because being like every other news site is boring. Time to light the fire and maybe be an asshole from time to time.

Help Me Grow The Blog

For the past year of writing here, I've tried to keep as consistent as possible and allow things to grow naturally. The blog has grown, but at a fairly slow pace. My goal with this website is to fly more, bring more reviews to the website and be able interact with people.

That is where I'm coming to all of you, those who read the blog on a regular or semi-regular basis. I want to expand the readership. The more readers, the more time I can dedicate to writing, reviews, and videos. I've started to expand the reach a bit with the new Fly Vegetarian Youtube Channel, as well as some streaming content over on my Channel.

If you like what you see, I'd love it if you could help me reach new people.

Some ways you can help:

  • Share the website with friends on social media
  • Share particularly interesting articles
  • Check out my Youtube Channel
  • Check out my Channel
  • Like Youtube Videos
  • Subscribe to my Youtube Channel
  • Follow me on Twitch
  • Encourage People You Know To Check Out The Website
  • Share Facebook and Twitter pages with Friends

I've been motivated over the last year with the growth of the website and want to continue to write here for a long time to come. The readers are the most important part of any website, without you I'd be sending posts into the ether to never be seen. I appreciate all of those that have supported me up until now.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who stops by to read my posts. I look forward to the next year of the blog.

Welcome to the New "Fly Vegetarian"

Just wanted to take a moment to show off the new design of the website. Expect some tweaks going forward and the backlog of articles is still there for all the enjoy.

Do be aware that the way the new site is set up means that pictures need to be loaded slightly differently. While this doesn't change much on your end, the backlog of articles have not been uploaded in this way and if you go back far enough the pictures will not show on the front page. I've worked to updated the last few months, but some remain to be update. Just keep that in mind if you are looking at old articles.

Hope everyone enjoys the new layout, let me know what you think, and expect some coming minor tweaks as I bring everything in line with the new format. Hope everyone enjoys!

The New Website

Welcome to the new website... or is it the old website retooled? Whatever the case, I want to bring you the new website and really what I see the overall focus to be of this website.

Last year was a huge travel year for me, I packed in far more flight miles than ever before, with 2016 looking to be an even bigger year for me, I think that this website needed to show what the focus of things to come is.

As I start to fly more in premium classes, I've noticed a lack of articles that focus on vegetarian/vegan meals in these long-haul premium class seats. Seeing as I wasn't seeing much from anyone else, I decided that I needed to start to cover. The continued coverage will likely be about flying on points, my strategy for flying business and first class seats, and what my travel experiences are. The one thing I plan to do differently is to add in the vegan/vegetarian point of view on meals in the premium classes.

Also, to put everyone's mind at ease who have long visited the website for my photography, that is not changing... well it's not going away, it is actually changing, for the better. I will be adding more photos for people to look at with good descriptions on where and when I took the photos. The photo store will likely remain very similar since this isn't a big focus of the website and really good photos for print purposes require a well edited properly sized shot, these will remain the best of the best photos... but do not hesitate to request a photo if you want to purchase them.

I hopoe everyone enjoys the new design, the continues travel focus, and the new photo section. Don't histate to comment and let me know what you think of the new site, and if you have any suggestions for changes I should make.

Thank you everyone for continuing to follow my writing. Expect the writing to pick back up now that the website is changed over to the new format I have been mulling over in my mind for quite a while.
