As a points and miles collector and user, I often have many accounts with many different airlines, even if I've never flown with them. These accounts are there to transfer points to, and take advantage of offers like free miles and low cost miles purchases. This week Virgin America sent out an email offering free miles for a simple signup.
The offer is a fairly simple sign up for hotel alerts through Virgin America and get 500 free miles. Easy and straight forward, although it does require you to sign up to receive some emails that will likely be kind of annoying. The miles will post to your account within 10 days of the end of the promotion, which is September 30th. After that point you can always do away with the email promotions.
It's a very simple signup process and you get free miles. Who can complain about that?
