While it is probably abundantly clear, Starwood hotels are by far my favorite hotel chain because of their amazing loyalty program that seems to always be getting better. Starwood hotels also boast my favorite hotel brands that I have stayed at to date.
In the past, SPG hotels such as the Westin in Greenville, SC and the Four Points in Seoul, South Korea have been among my favorites. Atlantic City also boasts a pretty nice Sheraton hotel which I was able to attend in the middle of a hurricane last year. Even the Aloft hotel has had some appeal, while certainly not my favorite. Overall I've been mostly happy with the Starwood chain of hotels, with one notable exception of Element branded hotels.
As 2016 swings into full gear, there promises to be a whole lot of travel coming on this year. I've purposely chosen my hotels this year to hit as many different brands from Starwood as possible. The brands you'll be seeing here soon include a Luxury Collection hotel, Four Points, W Hotel, Westin, and likely a Sheraton as well. Outside of the Starwood chain there is likely to be an independent hotel from France, Ibis hotel chain also in France, and a Hyatt Place one a work trip. With more travel coming up, between business and pleasure there should be some great hotels to check out.
To date my hands down favorite hotel was the Four Points Namasan in Seoul, South Korea. The hotel was brand new, up 30+ floor (which is a huge hit with me), and featured amazing view of the city. The location could not have been more perfect for getting around the city on public transit as well as travelling to an from the airport. This was an amazing hotel, but I know there are so many great places coming this year. Dubai promises a great experience that I just cannot wait to partake in.
Look forward to some great new hotel reviews as we continue into 2016. Have a wonderful travel year everyone!
