Hello from Seoul

First off, I apologize for no post yesterday. After taking off from Dallas, it was over 13 hours in the air until we touched down in Seoul. My flight to DFW from Philadelphia took off at 5am, so as you can imagine, I was awake far earlier than that. Also keep in mind that my ability to sleep on planes is virtually no existent. So I may fall asleep for maybe 45 min, but thats about it. Combine all of this with that fact that I got a cold right before leaving, and I was tired. After moving through customs, getting on the express train to Seoul, and walking to the hotel, it was after 5pm. I needed sleep badly, so I settled in and slept until morning. Right now I am writing this in the morning in Seoul, but that is 13 hours ahead of the east coast, so everyone won't see this until Friday morning your time.

My impressions so far of Seoul... love it. No explanation on why, I have not really explored the city yet, only been in an airport, train station and hotel... but I love it for some reason. The people, how nice the airport is, the hotel is amazing. Really I love it all so far, we'll see how I feel at the end of the trip but so far, I'd come back in a heart beat.

A little additional information about the hotel. I chose to stay at Four Points Namasan. This hotel is just up the street from Seoul Station, the main train station for the city. This is where the express train (Arex) comes in from Incheon Airport. The train ride is fairly long, since the airport is in a neighboring city, not actually in Seoul. It is nice that you can jump off the train and walk right to the hotel instead of dealing with more subways rides. After a long flight, the proximity of the hotel to the train station is so fantastic.

Also, this hotel is quite new, opened earlier this year. The rooms are small, but very well laid out. The bed is large, the space is adequate, the bathrooms are great, and everything is modern. Light controls for the entire room are bedside, the view from the 26th floor is amazing, and it is quiet. Really, I couldn't ask for more, especially for the low price of this hotel. This is the place to stay in my opinion, there are more expensive probably more spacious rooms available in the city, but the proximity to Seoul Station is a win here.

Well, I will have much more to say about Seoul over the coming days, but so far I like it. Enjoy some photos of my trip so far.
